POST Office services are set to return to a Cotswolds village after eight months without any provision.
Residents of Mickleton, near Chipping Campden and to the east of Evesham, will be able to utilise a temporary hosted outreach service from The Village Store on the High Street.
The outreach initiative reaches some 1,500 remote and rural communities in the UK operating out of local buildings such as village halls, community centres of shops.
The postmaster of Evesham Post Office will operate the service on Mondays and Fridays from 3-4pm, starting on Monday, August 9.
The new location is approximately 170 metres away from the temporarily closed branch at Mickleton Post Office which shut in December 2020 following the resignation of the postmaster.
The Post Office said this new service would be temporary “while we continue to seek a permanent solution”.
Scott Lacey, Post Office network provision lead, said: “We are delighted to be restoring Post Office service to Mickleton as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.
“We thank the Postmaster for Evesham for providing this service.”
