APPLICATIONS for school places in Worcestershire for 2022 are set to open tomorrow.

From September 1, applications will be open for any child due to start school for the first time, or transitioning to a Middle or High School in September 2022.

For children applying for a place at High school, the deadline to apply is October 31, 2021.

For primary, first, infant, junior and middle schools, parents will have until January 15, 2022.

Letters and guides on starting school or transitioning to a new school will be distributed by schools.

Councillor Marcus Hart, cabinet member for education at Worcestershire County Council said: "Starting school or transitioning to a new school is a big step in our young people’s lives and we aim to make that transition as smooth as possible.

"We are proud that for September 2021 admissions, every child that applied for a place was offered one, however parents should ensure that the deadlines for admissions are met to avoid missing out on a 2022 place."

Parents and carers can apply for their child’s school place via a secure online portal any time before 12 midnight on the relevant deadline day.

If you do not have access to the internet, you can get online at any Worcestershire library or if you require additional assistance please do not hesitate to talk to your school or to call School Admissions on 01905 822700.

The online system will also include guides on starting school or transitioning to a new school.
