A CHARITABLE football match in Pershore has raised more than £4,000 for the family of a motorcyclist who died in a crash on the A44.

Tomasz Kozmicki was on his way to work at Severn Waste Services when the collision occurred at 7am on July 9.

He was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision between his Yamaha motorbike and a VW Touran at the Salters Lane junction in Lower Moor, near

Pershore.

Mr Kozmicka, aged 41, from Evesham, left behind his wife, Agata, and their two children aged six and eight.

As we reported in July, a Go Fund Me page was set up by family friend Marcin Fuja to raise money for Agata, who has been battling an aggressive brain

tumour. So far, the appeal has exceeded its target of £12,000 with £15,590 donated by more than 400 supporters.

Now, a further £4,385.70 has been added to the kitty after teams from local firms Wrubble Ltd and DolphinTec battled it out at Pershore Town FC last

Friday, September 10.

Phil Williams Director of Wrubble said: “It was a great night with an awesome turnout. The result wasn’t what we’d hoped but we gave it our all and the

support from local people and businesses has been greatly appreciated.”

Lewis Dolphin agreed: “What a night! DolphinTec are chuffed with their win but overwhelmed by the support we received for the fundraiser. Thank you to

the Wrubble crew for inviting us to join them and to everyone who played their part in raising over £4k for the family.”

The final score was 8-2 to DolphinTec, and the man of the match was Vince Jones of Wrubble.

Much of the proceeds of the evening came from a raffle, with big prizes donated by dozens of generous local firms and well-wishers.

The family’s Go Fund Me page remains active and further donations are welcomed. A statement on the appeal reads: "This family needs your help. As we

all know life is so cruel and unfair taking our beloved ones too soon leaving holes that will never be filled.

"But when you're living with cancer already, with two young ones to support and reassure, every little really will help.”
