A GARAGE was completely destroyed after a fire broke out in Cleeve Prior on Monday afternoon (September 27).

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called to a building fire at the garage in Hoden Lane, Cleeve Prior at 1.24pm.

Crews from Evesham and Pebworth attended as well as an aerial ladder platform from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service.

The building, approximately 15m by 20m, was well alight with fire affecting neighbouring properties.

Three main jets and two hose reel jets were used to fight the fire with firefighters using 20 sets of breathing apparatus.

The building was completely destroyed by fire and damping down was also carried out with Severn Trent requested to increase water pressure to the hydrant used.

Western Power also attended because cables were arcing.

There were no casualties and no other emergency services attended.

A number of cylinders with unknown contents were cooled overnight in a pop-up dam.

Firefighters carried out a reinspection at 8.30pm and the incident was marked as closed just before 9.30pm.
