Children and staff at a school in Broadway took part in Remembrance Day with a homemade project.

On Thursday, November 11, everybody at Broadway First School took part in the two minute silence before classes discussed why the day is so important and what the poppy represents.

Headteacher Lee Poultney took the opportunity to chat with the kids about British and school values and highlighted how different life might have been if not for the sacrifice made by those in the war.

In the build-up to the day, children got busy creating their own poppies made from plastic bottles.

The fantastic results are on display on the front fence of the school on Lime Tree Avenue.
