A funeral director in Pershore celebrated Christmas with a Memorial Tree.

E Hill and Son manager Jo Tolley came up with the idea as a way of giving people a chance to remember those they lost last year.

The funeral service company sent out hundreds of tags to families, giving them the chance to write their own messages to be displayed on the tree.

A spokesperson of E Hill and Son said: “The response was over whelming.

“Not only did families send their tags back they also sent in letters and cards thanking us for doing this and saying what a beautiful idea.

“We also had lots of messages on our Facebook page asking us to write tags on behalf of the families.

“The tree is something the whole team at Hills have felt very proud of doing and we will be repeating this again in December.”

The tree was on display in the window at Fairfield House, Defford Road, which has been home to E Hill and Sons since founder Edwin and his son Richard moved in during the 1970s.
