A major product recall has been announced following salmonella being found in BakeAway raw pastry products.

Dough provided by BakeAway is sold in Aldi, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons, and is also used by Galberts and Pizza Express brands respectively, all of which are affected by the recall.

Dough that has a use-by date of up to January 25 2022, is included.

The announcement was made on Twitter, via the Worcestershire Trading Standards Twitter account.

BakeAway is a manufacturer of dough, based in Northamptonshire, whose products are available across all major retailers.

Point of sale notices are to appear in major retailers across the UK, explaining why the products are being recalled and the steps to follow if any of the products have been purchased.

Customers who return the products are entitled to a full refund in store.

If you have ingested the products, the symptoms associated with salmonella to look out for typically include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps.
