A body has been found in the search for missing Gloucestershire man Joe Bellingham, police have confirmed. 

Mr Bellingham, 34, had been reported missing more than a week ago, with his last sighting captured on CCTV in his hometown of Cheltenham on Friday, January 7.

Officers were called to Cleeve Hill yesterday (Sunday, January 16) after a member of the public had discovered a body while out walking.

Formal identification of the body has not yet taken place, however, police have confirmed the family of Mr Bellingham has been informed.

The circumstances of the death are not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "We’re saddened to report that a body has been found in connection with the search for Joe Bellingham, aged 34, who had been reported missing last week.

"A member of the public called us earlier today (Sunday) to say they had found a body while walking on Cleeve Hill.

"While formal identification has not yet taken place, Joe's family has been informed. The circumstances of the death are not being treated as suspicious.

"Our thoughts are with Joe’s family and friends at this time. We would also like to thank all those who shared our numerous appeals over the past week to help find Joe."
