This week we posed the question "What is the one shop our high street really needs?" and received almost one hundred responses.

By far and away the most requested shop was Primark.

Marilyn Grove said: "Primark would be good for the youngsters".

LJ Creed added: "Obviously I definitely want Primark!"

It appears Evesham residents are keen for more clothing shops in general.

Some have suggested Matalan and H&M, as well as more clothing shops for children and men.

Another shop that residents are keen to see on their high street is a Wilko.

Sonja Riches said: "I echo the calls for a Wilko. Home Bargains is good but just doesn’t come close in terms of household stuff."

There is also a call for more supermarkets, in particular for an Asda or a Sainsbury's.

The closest Asda to Evesham currently is in Pershore, a fifteen-minute drive away.

Also highly requested were Poundland, M&S, and Debenhams.

Karen Jackson said: "Marks & Spencer like the one in Cheltenham or a Debenhams would really bring Evesham back to where its status was 20 years ago."

Moving away from retail, many suggested the introduction of something providing entertainment for children.

Some of the suggestions include a children's role-play centre, a jump-tastic or a ninja warrior space.

Evesham residents also like to see to help support their children is more toy shops, specifically a Goodwins and Hodgetts.

Other places that were suggested as great additions to the Evesham high street were an Ikea, a JD sports and a Waterstones.

In general, commenters were keen for a wider variety of shops to be included on the high street to revive the area.

Do you agree? Which shops would you like to see in Evesham?
