THE father of a talented young rugby player who died while playing this weekend has paid tribute to his "kind and generous" son.

Glenn Jeffery took to Facebook after his son Jack died while playing for Evesham RFC on February 12.

He wrote: "It is with great sadness that I need to let you know we lost our beloved son Jack yesterday.

"Jack passed away doing the thing that he loved the most, playing rugby.

"Jack was the most kind hearted, generous and beautiful son who enriched the lives of everyone who was lucky to know and have met him.

"He will be so missed by his family and friends."

Mr Jeffery was playing for Evesham RFC against Berkswell and Balsall in Kenilworth, Warwickshire when he was injured while scoring a try.

Despite the efforts of his teammates and paramedics, he later died in hospital.
