There has been a second crash in as many days on a main road near Evesham.

Two cars collided on the A46 Evesham Bypass near Twyford on Tuesday evening.

Two people travelling in one of the vehicles were treated for minor injuries before being discharged at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5:50pm to reports of a two car RTC on the A46 near Twyford. We sent one ambulance to the scene and assessed two patients who were discharged at the scene.”

West Mercia Police also attended the scene.

A spokesperson said: “Around 5.20pm yesterday officers received a report of a collision between two cars on the A46 Evesham bypass near Twyford.

“Officers and West Midlands Ambulance Service attended.

The crash comes just a day after another collision, also on the A46.

On Monday evening a 19-year-old motorcyclist was left with “potentially serious injuries” following a collision with a VW Golf.

The teenager was taken to a hospital in Birmingham for further treatment.

MP for West Worcestershire Harriett Baldwin has called for National Highways to do more to tackle the problem.

She said: “I repeat my calls on National Highways that it must do all it can to expedite measures to reduce speed and increase safety for road users.”
