An 87-year-old man had his watch stolen by people claiming to be collecting for a blind charity.

The victim was stopped whilst getting into his car in the car park by the hospice shop on Pershore, by a woman who claimed to be collecting for a blind charity.

The man filled out a form, entered his postcode and signed & dated it.  He then went to continue with his business, when the woman grabbed his arm and asked him not to go as she was hungry and had no money.

The man gave her £10 and it was only later when he was carrying on with his business that he discovered his watch had gone from his wrist.

The woman was described as Polish, 5ft 3 ins tall, with dark hair, brown hair & wearing dark clothing.

The watch is an Omega constellation watch, which is 18-carat gold, and the gold chain strap is thought to be 13-carat gold.

The watch was bought in 1959.

West Mercia Police are urging people to be vigilant after the theft.
