An Evesham businesswoman has received a welcome boost from a Dragons Den star.

Gemma Grove, owner of Cotswold Wax Co, pitched her business to retail entrepreneur Theo Paphitis as part of ‘Small Business Sunday’.

The company was then one of six winners to be reposted by the investor, who shared it with his near half a million Twitter followers.

Ms Groves said: “What started as a hobby in my kitchen in 2018 has grown into a successful business with our production unit and in-store shop at Blackminster Business Park.

“We have built a community of home fragrance loving customers who order from us every month as well as recommending us to their family and friends.

“It is great that Theo has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about what we do to his following.”

Cotswold Wax Co, launched in 2018, produces wax melts and home fragrance products.

Thanks to Mr Paphitis’ share, the business has seen an influx of Twitter followers and extra orders, and is now featured on www.theopaphitissbs.com.

The Dragons Den star launched the Small Business Sunday initiative in 2010, and has since supported over 3,000 businesses.

Mr Paphitas, chairman of Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas, and Boux Avenue, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.

“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings.

“The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish Cotswold Wax Co every success.”
