A POT Noodle fan from Worcestershire has made it to national television after scoring a mention on Have I Got News For You.

We previously reported Dan Pugh, from Pershore, has eaten more than 4,000 of the snacks in his lifetime, having eaten one every day for almost a decade now.

Richard Ayoade, who was host on the latest episode of the quiz screened on Friday, (April 6) said Mr Pugh called himself the "Pot Noodle King".

The host asked panellists Ian Hislop, Paul Merton, Maisie Adam and Justin Webb what was special about the £500 vending machine Mr Pugh recently required, but none of them correctly guessed it had contained a 14-year-old out-of-date Beef and Tomato pot.

There were looks of disgust on the faces of panellists as the host then revealed he had eaten the pot noodle.

The audience laughed as they heard the comment Mr Pugh had given about the taste of it. The 53-year-old had said it "tasted awful - I could only imagine licking the bottom of my granny’s knicker drawer."

The episode is currently available to watch on BBC iplayer.
