AN award-winning cellist is joining the Worcester Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Elgar’s iconic Cello Concerto.

Rebecca McNaught, an acclaimed soloist and former Gloucestershire Young Musician of the Year, started to learn the Elgar concerto when she was just 12.

She’ll join the orchestra and conductor Joe Davies for a performance at Pershore Abbey on Saturday, June 18.

The concert starts at 2.30pm and the afternoon’s programme also includes performances of Coleridge-Taylor’s Ballade and Dvorak’s Symphony No 8.
