A county hairdresser has decided to bring back masks amid a rise in Covid cases.

Customers at Hairatage, in the Royal Arcade in Pershore, will be required to wear face masks for the foreseeable future.

This comes as cases nationwide continue to rise, with the number of patients in hospitals up 36 per cent week on week.

According to NHS England, as of 8am on July 4 there were 10,658 Covid patients in English hospitals, the first time the figure had risen above 10,000 since April.

A statement on the hairdressers Facebook page read: “Due to the high rise of Covid case’s in our area.

“We have decided to re-introduce wearing a face mask at your appointment for the next upcoming weeks.

“We appreciate that this is a step back, but for the salon to remain open & your safety. We feel this is a necessary step for the next few weeks.

“We will keep you posted with future updates!

“Remember ‘Wearing is Caring’.”
