THE popular Worcester City Run is set to return again - and this year we've teamed up with the organisers and athletics legend Paula Radcliffe for a great competition.

On Saturday, September 3, Paula’s brilliant Families on Track event will return to Worcester Racecourse after last year’s successful debut.

Paula came up with the Families on Track concept as a way to encourage mums, dads and grandparents to exercise together with children.

The event involves family groups working together to complete 10 kilometres in a relay format, and all at a safe, secure venue.

Families on Track is all about getting together and enjoying the experience and, if last year’s event in Worcester is anything to go by, the idea works a treat!

Paula will be in Worcester again for this year’s Families on Track, and along with kids’ smartwatch brand Xplora, wants to recruit Team Radcliffe to join her in taking part in the event.

She has asked Worcester News to help find two or three suitable team mates, including at least one youngster who is under 12.

If you think that your family could be the right fit for Team Radcliffe, simply answer the following question: Which one of these distances is closest to a half marathon? A, three miles, B, 13 miles or C, 26 miles.

Send your answer, along with your full name, address, telephone number and email to: Families on track, Unit 1& 2 Richmond House, Edison Park, Hindle Way, Swindon SN3 3RB or email midlandscompetitions@newsquest.co.uk by the closing date of Tuesday, August 16 with Families on Track in the subject.

The competition winners will line up with former world record holder Paula on Saturday, September 3 and will also receive one of the new Xplora XGo3 watches worth £160, which will help young runners in the family to track their various activities.

Alongside Paula’s Families on Track, the 2022 Worcester City Runs will bring two days of events to the city on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4, with the return of the Worcester City Half Marathon, 10K and Young Athletes Run.

Organised by Events of the North, in partnership with Worcester City Council, the Worcester City Runs attract thousands of runners and spectators to the city every September. Entries for all of the events are open now at www.worcestercityrun.com.
