Pub-goers had to be locked in as a stabbing happened right outside the bar.

Patrons at The Old Swanne Inne, on Evesham High Street, were told to stay inside on Saturday night as two groups were involved in a stabbing on the opposite side of Swan Lane.

A spokesperson for JD Wetherspoon, the company that owns the pub, said: "This incident had nothing to do with the pub whatsoever.

"No customers from our pub were involved and neither group were in our pub.

"The police attended and asked us to shut our side door to prevent customers from going out there.

"Police have since been back to ask for CCTV today of our cameras to see if they can capture any footage pointing up the road."

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that they were called to Tesco Petrol Station on Worcester Road following reports that a man had been stabbed at around 10.40pm.
