Faulty traffic lights have caused 'massive tailbacks'.
The town's mayor, councillor Mark Goodge, took to social media to warn residents about problems on the roads today.
Councillor Goodge has said that an issue with traffic lights on the A46 has caused long queues of traffic, with the lights switching to red without anyone pressing the button.
His Facebook post read: "There appears to be a problem with the traffic lights on the pedestrian crossing on the A46 at The Link/Vale Park roundabout - the button seems to be stuck and as a result, they're going red to traffic every 30 seconds even without anyone being there to press the button.
"As a result, there are now massive tailbacks approaching the roundabout from the A46 south, and on The Link."
He added: "I've reported it to National Highways, and they've promised to send an engineer out pronto.
"But in the meantime, it would be worth checking traffic levels on Google Maps or Waze before going that way if you can."
