SUPER slimmer Alison Kings dropped from 14 stone 12 lb to 12 stone 10 lb in just five months.

Mrs Kings joined the Evesham Slimming World group after trying unsuccessfully to lose weight at home on her own.

She had attempted to follow various diets but found herself lacking the motivation to keep them up.

“I thought I was destined to struggle with my weight for the rest of my life,” she said.

However, after shedding the pounds, she trained as a consultant for Slimming World just over a year ago and is now preparing to launch her second group, at Drakes Broughton Village Hall, on Friday, January 6.

She said: “When I first joined Slimming World as a member, I never dreamed that I would end up helping other people to lose weight but now I just can’t wait to get started.

“After losing over two stones myself and completing my training, it’s a privilege for me to be able to pass on the experience, insight and understanding that helped me, so that I can give my members the support they need.

“As a consultant it’s my role to create that warm, supportive atmosphere to get people sharing their ideas and experiences to help others - it’s going to be great fun!”

According to Slimming World, over 40 per cent of the Worcestershire population is now overweight or obese.

By following a “food optimising plan” and making an effort to become more active, Mrs Kings was able to lose two stone in just a few months.

Now she will host her own classes every Friday at 9.30am at Drakes Broughton Village Hall.

She will also continue to run her first group, based at Pershore Football Club, ever Tuesday at 9.30am and 11am.

Laurie Griffin, who is the Midlands District Manager for Slimming World, said: "Alison’s experience of being a successful Slimming World member and her kind and warm personality and great sense of humour I just know that she’ll be an amazing support to members, cheering them all the way to their target weight.”
