POLICE conducted licencing checks at several pubs in Evesham last night.

The Evesham Town North and Rural South safer neighbourhood policing team visited the pubs to check valid licenses.

Several premises were given advice by the police will be checking has been followed on future visits.

PCSO Leanne Knight said: "Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Team have been conducting licensing checks around various pubs in Evesham.

"Words of advice given to several premises and further visits will be made to check advice has been followed. "

Businesses, organisations and individuals who want to sell or supply alcohol in England and Wales must have a licence or other authorisation from a licensing authority such as a local council.

The law and policy governing this area is overseen by the Home Office.
