ORGANISERS of a popular Cotswold show have thanked organisers.

The Moreton Show has been a staple event in Moreton in Marsh since it was first set up in 1949.

Richard Heath, sponsorship and trade stands secretary, expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support of the sponsorship network, acknowledging its pivotal role in ensuring the Moreton Show can go on.

He said: "Moreton Show remains true to its roots as a traditional agricultural show, and the generosity of our sponsors plays a crucial part in preserving its essence.

"We extend a heartfelt thank you to all sponsors who share our commitment to the rural community; your support truly makes a significant difference."

Since its inception in 1949, the show has grown and transformed significantly, becoming the cherished Moreton Show known today.

Butler Sherborn, a property specialist, has been sponsoring the event for 16 years and, for eight years, has run the Butler Sherborn Members' Marquee and Garden.

The marquee and garden gives visitors a break from the festivities with homemade lunch or afternoon tea.

Richard Greasby, Partner of Butler Sherborn, said: "Butler Sherborn are delighted to have sponsored The Members Marquee for over eight years now and remain ardent supporters of this genuine Agricultural Society Show, it is the highlight of the year for the Cotswold farming community."

Lauren Cleary, Cotswold Leisure Group – headline sponsor of the Horse Area, added: "Moreton Show is the absolute highlight of our annual exhibition calendar, and we are delighted to be returning for 2023… the team can’t wait to catch up with existing and future customers for a glass of fizz."

The Moreton Show will be back on Saturday, September 2.

It is one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the country, with 200 trade stands and a variety of family-friendly entertainment.

The Grand Arena is once again being filled with acts like the Shetland Pony Grand National, the Heavy Horse Parade and the Livestock Parade, which features 30 different breeds of animals in the ring at the same time.

The Rural Attractions Arena will include The BMX Show and the 65th-anniversary celebration of the Series II Land Rover and the Clumber Spaniels.

The Cotswold Raw Dog Arena will be packed with the Strigidea Gun Dog Display.

The Food and Drink Theatre will have demonstrations such as perfecting macarons and the Chocolate Genie, Yvonne Everest.
