AN Evesham nightclub has launched a new mini-bus scheme across The Vale to ensure its customers get home safely.

Marilyn's Nightclub on Bridge Street has teamed up with Sam Steel Limited to provide minibus trips across Evesham and neighbouring villages for its customers.

Samuel Benjamin, general manager, said: "I hope more people from the surrounding villages will want to come out because they can get back safe.

"They don't need to call or arrange with parents a lift or walk home on their own in the dark.

"It is to allow safety and efficiency."

He added that nights out are spontaneous due to last-minute decision changes like people wanting to go on a night out last minute or people wanting to leave the club early, making them struggle to pre-book a taxi.

"We do not have the facilities in the town to get people back home safely, and it is not just an issue for us but with nighttime culture in Evesham in general," Mr Benjamin added.

The scheme was launched last Saturday (September 16), and Mr Benjamin said it was really effective, and the team got great feedback.

"They said it was really good, and the service ran efficiently.

"We hope it will draw a handful of regular customers each week."

Marilyn's Nightclub is running the scheme every Saturday at three time slots which are 1.30am, 2.20am and 3.30am.

The minibus trip costs £7, and customers can go to Badsey, Bretford and Honeybourne.

Mr Benjamin said this is subject to change if the minibus scheme becomes more popular, and they are already thinking about branching it out to Pershore, Broadway and Blackminster.

He also added timings may change and the cost if it increases in popularity.

"We want to make everything cost-effective.

"We are not getting an income from this because it is about getting people into the town, and the price will cover our outgoings."

Mr Benjamin has urged people to check their Facebook page for any updates on time changes and place changes.
