The cast of Evesham Operatic and Dramatic Society (EODS) are taking the lyrics of their current production to heart as they prepare to "bare all" as they recreate the famous WI nude calendar live on stage for their forthcoming production of Calendar Girls:The Musical.

It comes to The Henrician, Evesham from November 14 to 18 2023.

Based on the hit film of the same name with lyrics and music by Take That’s Gary Barlow, Calendar Girls blasts away all preconceptions of what it is to be in the WI when a group of Yorkshire members pose for an artistic nude calendar to raise money for charity, which brings each woman unexpectedly into flower.

But the calendar is just a small part of the tale: the true revelation lies in the stories of each of the six women who embark on an unthinkable journey motivated by the love they, and their community, had for a devoted husband and friend following his untimely death from cancer.

With unforgettable songs, every performance continues to add to the millions already raised for charity and proves that there is no such thing as an ordinary woman.

Thanks to the support of local businesses, EODS have also produced their very own calendar, which will be on sale from November with 75 per cent of the profits being split between the original Calendar Girls charity, Blood Cancer UK, and The Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust.

Tickets are available from www.henrician.org at £16 (£14 concessions and groups eight plus).

Performances start at 7.30pm with an additional Saturday matinee.

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
