Improvements have been made to a popular Evesham footpath that links the town with numerous nearby villages.

Members of the Evesham Rambling Club Working Party recently helped enhance the Evesham Vale Circular Walk 2.

The route, favoured by walkers, connects Evesham with Badsey, Wickhamford, and Aldington, offering walk lengths of four, six and eight miles amidst the tranquil local market gardening landscape.

The team installed a new kissing gate and additional fencing, facilitated by Heather Bainbridge of Worcestershire County Council and a landowner who improved the route that passes through her land.

The Rambling Club maintains seven pathways to promote the Evesham area, an effort rewarded in June when the town achieved the coveted Walkers are Welcome status.

This acknowledgment followed concerted campaigning by local groups, councillors and businesses under the umbrella Evesham Welcomes Walkers, aiming to boost health and local commerce via a robust walking community.

Evesham Welcomes Walkers’ Steering Group members are currently rallying local businesses to endorse the scheme.

Quarterly, the ERC Working Party welcomes new volunteers, with the Club offering a broad range of walks from five to 15 miles.
