A LARGE number of knives were taken from Evesham shops.
Police and Trading Standards have been going to various shops in Evesham Town Centre to raise awareness regarding shops selling knives today (Friday).
The patrol led to a large number of knives from shops being surrendered for destruction.
PC Matt Beards said: "This week, we have been supporting Op Sceptre, a national campaign to tackle knife crime.
"We know locally knife crime is relatively low compared to other areas, however, we're not complacent and continue to take action to stop people from carrying a knife in the first place."
