Volunteers in Evesham have loaded more than 15,000 gift-filled shoeboxes to be sent to Moldova and Romania.

The volunteers were from Teams4u, a charity providing hands on support to those in need.

Working from their Davies Road warehouse, the charity supporters packed two lorries with their collected donations.

After months of collective efforts throughout November and December, three lorries in total were dispatched to Eastern Europe.

A small team travelled to Romania personally to distribute the boxes among the most deprived communities.

The contents of the boxes were free gifts with "no strings attached".

The Wrexham-based charity with sorting centres throughout Britain has collected and shipped over 60,000 boxes to Romania, Moldova, Bosnia, Georgia and Ukraine to date.

The charity was founded in 2006, and their first volunteer team held a sports camp in Liberia teaching young people about HIV and AID's.
