A care home in Worcestershire has received a visit from their local MP.

MP for Mid Worcestershire, Nigel Huddleston, visited Brompton House Care Home in Broadway, Worcestershire, on December 16.

The Financial Secretary to the Treasury engaged with residents and colleagues of the home, which is run by HC-One.

Known as an integral part of the local community, the 37-bed care home offers residential, nursing, and residential dementia care and has recently been revamped.

Mr Huddleston was given a tour and spoke with the residents, staff, and visitors.

The home's residents engaged him in discussions about local and national politics.

The residents appreciated Mr Huddleston's friendly and engaging demeanour, as they enjoyed sharing their stories and viewpoints and hoped he would visit again.

James Smith, a resident at Brompton House, said: "I really liked meeting Mr Huddleston and we had a long chat, which made me very happy."

Jinu Thomas, home manager at Brompton House Care Home, added: "We were delighted to welcome Nigel Huddleston MP to our home.

"Everyone had a great time, chatting and discussing key issues they care about and what actions can be taken to overcome them."

Nigel Huddleston MP said: "I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Brompton House, connecting with the incredible staff and residents.

"While it’s undoubtedly a demanding sector to work in, it was great to see the commitment and compassion of Brompton House’s staff to the wellbeing of their residents.

"Thanks again for letting me visit."

Mr Huddleton has been active in the community recently, having taken part in a Q&A at a school in November.

He attended the event at Prince Henry's Sixth Form and received a tour of the school while he was there.
