This includes 13 varied buildings, amongst them the college building, sports hall, boarding houses and educational blocks.

The college has origins as a 19th-century choir school established by renowned English composer Sir Frederick Ouseley.

The school has suffered numerous closures in its history, initially in 1985 because of monetary struggles.

After reopening in 1990 as an independent international boarding school, it once again closed its doors in June 2020 when it fell victim to the pandemic, as overseas students could not travel.

Since then, the site has remained unused.

Now, Malvern Hills District Council has revealed an ambition to revitalise the site.

Evesham Journal: Estate agents Fisher German have said the college poses a 'unique opportunity' to potential buyers

Potential uses range from education and training centres to residential development, hospitality, and healthcare hubs.

The college on the market is said to offer a unique investment opportunity in Worcestershire.

Fisher German Partner, Tom Pike, foresees uncurbed potential for this large site and its array of existing buildings.

Mr Pike said: "The sale of St Michael’s College is a unique opportunity in Worcestershire for a wide variety of potential buyers.

"The land and the existing buildings represent a great opportunity for an imaginative buyer to work their magic and has the in-principle support of the local authority.

"The existing red-brick boarding houses could support a variety of uses, while the main college building could also be the centrepiece for an ambitious business looking to create a real destination in the Worcestershire countryside.

"There are genuinely so many different possibilities, which is why we have opened up the sale on an ‘all enquiries’ basis."
