District councillors want to see a site in Pershore before deciding on a planning application.

Wychavon’s planning committee was looking at plans to build four homes on land off Three Springs Road.

A number of members said they’d prefer the application if the proposed properties were bungalows.

But council officers said they couldn’t specify this under planning guidelines as the application was for fewer than five properties.

Councillors deferred the proposal so they can carry out a site visit.

Charles Tucker, who represents the area on the district council, said the access proposed for the site is less than adequate.

“I would propose that access should be directly from Three Springs Road,” he said.

“There is already a private drive from Three Springs Road that could easily be adapted to use for four more properties.”
