A fundraiser for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has been shortlisted for a national award after raising over £100,000 for the cause.

Claire Dyson, of Cleeve Prior, has been nominated for the Midlands Rural Enterprise Award by the Countryside Alliance.

This recognition comes as a result of her efforts raising funds for the life-saving charity over the past 12 years.

Operating her own business, Claire Dyson Water Treadmill & Rehabilitation Centre, her work has sponsored numerous critical lifesaving missions in the region due to her fundraising efforts.

The charity often intervenes in dire situations, quickly bring enhanced skills, medicine and care to people who are in critical need, with each mission costing between £288 for a critical care car and £2,950 for an air ambulance.

Charley Burke, fundraising executive for the charity, said: "The awards are fondly known as the rural Oscars, celebrating businesses and people who go the extra mile.

"We would love to see Claire Dyson receive the recognition she deserves as the rural enterprise winner, for her commitment to the rural business community and her unfaltering support of our charity over the last 12 years."

The ultimate winner of the award is decided by an online public vote, with the charity appealing for people to cast their vote in the direciton of Ms Dyson.
