Young adults visiting the Jacksplace hospice officially opened ‘Jesters’.

Located within the grounds, Jesters offers a range of social opportunities for its visitors.

The opening was marked by a medieval-themed celebration, featuring the hospice’s Play and Activities team and attendees exploring the facility over tea and cakes baked by the young adults.

Inside, Jesters allows for multiple wheelchairs and beds, plus outlets for ventilation and oxygen pumps.

The versatile space can function as a pub, dining area, cinema, sensory room and more.

Claire Potterton, play and activities team leader at Naomi House and Jacksplace, said: "We are so excited to officially open Jesters. Young adults that regularly visit the hospices were involved in the creation of the space, giving advice on what they wanted the space for, and features that were important to them.

"A lot of hard work and passion has gone into creating Jesters, and we are delighted it is open and ready for the young adults to enjoy. We are so excited to make the most of the space and use it to its full potential.”

Jacksplace provides vital care to life-limited and threatened young adults across central southern England.
