LOCAL mayors from four different counties have met up to better get to know each other.
The meeting was hosted in Evesham along the banks of the River Avon on June 2.
Nine mayors spanning across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire gathered at Hampton Ferry at the 'pleased to meet you' evening.
The 'chain gang' discussed their problems, successes and ideas and also raised £155 for the Mayor of Evesham's Charity Appeal.
The charity appeal supports Wallace House Community Centre, Evesham Adventure Playground and Ourside Youth Centre.
Robert Raphael, mayor of Evesham, said: "We all want the best for our communities and we quite often encounter the same issues.
"It was a great way to share ideas, problems and successes and discuss how other councils conduct their affairs.”
The mayors represented Evesham, Tenbury Wells, Malvern, Droitwich Spa, Stourport on Severn, Tewkesbury, Alcester and Ledbury.
The chairmen of Wychavon District Council, Worcestershire County Council and Cotswold District Council also attended.
