A PROLIFIC offender was caught red-handed and arrested by police.
Evesham SNT received a call from a town centre store over someone shoplifting from its shop.
But it turned out the individual was wanted for other offences and had committed another theft two days before.
Police officers arrested the person, who has been remanded in police custody.
A spokesperson for Evesham SNT said: "At 2.40pm on Thursday, September, Evesham SNT received a phone call from a store in Evesham Town Centre.
"They were reporting a theft in progress from a prolific offender who had committed another theft two days before.
"On receiving the phone call, officers attended the location, and the male was arrested shortly afterwards. The stolen goods were recovered and taken back to the store.
"The offender admitted the offences and has been remanded in police custody to attend court today."
