THE return of the Badsey Flower Show last Saturday brought with it the fine summer weather as thousands of visitors flocked to the village for one of its most popular events. The show, which had been rained off for the last two years, was opened by the head teacher of Badsey First School, Elizabeth Spencer. Some of the highlights of this year’s festival included The Cheshire Canine Display Team who gave a fun and entertaining display to the crowds, a mezzo dance display team, three marquees of exhibits from artwork to flower arranging and home-grown produce, a fun-fair, stalls, side-shows and much more. Committee member Adrian Barradell said: “This year’s show was a great success and we have already received many compliments about how well organised it was and how relaxed people felt throughout the afternoon. “The weather was fantastic, we had sunshine all day and after having had to cancel the show for the last two years running due to extreme weather, Saturday’s event has really put us back on the map as one of the best shows of its kind in the area.” For more information about the show log onto www.badsey.org.uk/flowershow.
