PEOPLE from across the Vale and beyond turned out for a charity clay shoot in aid of a village church.
More than 80 keen shooters took part in the event at Wolverton Farm near Peopleton on Saturday (3) and helped raise £1,000 towards the running costs of St Nicholas Church.
Alan Murphy of Bredon won the top prize in the 50-bird open shoot, with Becky Sealey of Upton Snodsbury taking the ladies’ prize and Sam Treadgold winning the junior title. Martin Parkinson of Kineton won the 10-bird pool shoot.
Reverend Stuart East, rector of St Nicholas Church, said he was hugely grateful to those who supported the shoot and helped to organise it.
“I thought it was a great weekend,” he said.
“There is a lot of effort going in to helping the church and a lot of good being done in general.”
