AN Evesham butcher has proved that he truly is the master of all he surveys after his sausages sizzled their way to success.

David Purser of The Master Butcher, on Avon Street, ensured the BPEX Product competition went with a bang after his sausages won four awards.

It was the first time that Mr Purser had entered four different sausaged in three categories and he was rewarded with instant success after picking up three golds and a silver.

He said: “The competition is tough and the sausages are marked on appearance, filling, texture shrinkage and taste. We got golds for our pork, sage and red onion which got 96 out of 100, thick traditional also got 96, and the pork and cajun got 98.”

Mr Purser received the silver award for a lamb and rosemary sausage.
