THE Valley Shopping Centre's marketing manager has won a prestigious award at a ceremony.

Marketing manager Phil Maclean won the marketing manager of the year at the 2017 Spectre Awards.

Mr Maclean competed against managers at shopping centres across the UK including the Trafford Centre in Manchester, The Bullring in Birmingham and London's Westfield Shopping Centre.

The awards, held earlier this month, recognise best practice in the shopping centre industry, and shining a spotlight on the people delivering this.

Mr Maclean learned he had won the won at a glittering ceremony held at The Dorchester Hotel in London, and hosted by BBC presenter Bill Turnbull.

On picking up the award Mr Maclean said: “The Sceptre awards are very prestigious accolades in the retail industry, acknowledging those who have worked hard to deliver excellence, and we are thrilled to have won.

"This is a sweet reward for the team, and we are delighted to put Evesham on the map at these national awards."
