A NEW garden centre has opened in Worcestershire.

Louise Mawditt has opened Angel Gardens at Mill Farm Country Retail in Stanford Bridge, just outside Worcester.

The new centre stocks a selection of perennials, winter bedding, shrubs and trees.

Mrs Mawditt said: "I also sell in my shop gardening essentials along with fresh cut flowers, autumn wreaths, wood craft, art and gifts for the gardener.

"So far the business is going well and I love everything about it.

"Some of the crafts I sell are produced locally and I love that I can stock products made to such high standards by small traders."

"I am actually qualified as a gardener and work in many gardens around Abberley and surrounding area - although I am having to stop this as the shop is taking up too much of my time."

Mrs Mawditt said that Angel Gardens was originally started by her and her husband 11 years ago as a landscape and gardening business.

"One evening back in April whilst having a discussion about gardening in our local, a friend said I should think about opening a garden centre and there the seed was planted," she said.

"I open at the moment Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 3pm.

"But we will be opening more days and hours next year.

"I am also planning to sell Christmas trees and wreaths later in the year."

The firm, which first opened in May, has also started selling gift vouchers exclusive to Angel Gardens, which Mrs Mawditt says are ideal for birthday, weddings, anniversaries, Fathers and Mothers Day and as a thank you to teachers at the end of term.
