A WORCESTERSHIRE solicitor has announced one of its long serving employees has retired.
QualitySolicitors Parkinson Wright has announced the retirement of David Houghton, a partner in family law.
Mr Houghton joined the firm in 1972 as an articled clerk and qualified as a solicitor in 1977. He has specialised in family law for the last 40 years, being a full partner for 37 years.
Mr Houghton said: “I will be leaving the family law department at Droitwich in the capable hands of Sam Hulse. She is already providing an excellent service and will continue to do so after I retire. I recommend her.”
Peter Lewis, partner and head of family law said: “David has been a valuable member of the family department and he deserves a long and happy retirement.
"I am pleased that we have been able to appoint a worthy successor in Sam Hulse."
Laurie Green, partner, head of litigation added: “David has been a colleague a, partner and friend who will be greatly missed as his contribution to the firm has been immense." And Cyril Arridge, managing partner, added Mr Houghton had always been a "great source of inspiration and support."
