Innovation is a key area for the Worcestershire LEP and we are working hard to continue the growth of innovative companies located within the county.

With this in mind, I would like to talk about an important event coming up for innovative businesses. Worcester Network (WINN) are hosting the ‘Great Things’ event taking place on Tuesday, June 18, at Worcester Warriors' Sixways Stadium.

The Great Things event will celebrate the diverse range of innovation across Worcestershire. The free, all-day event will feature a busy schedule starting with the ‘Find it in Worcestershire’ meet the buyer event before moving into the ‘Great Things’ innovation workshops and then concluding with a WINN Wednesday event.

There will be some 25 talks and workshops on offer during the day on topics such as cyber, tech, leadership and marketing. To complement this, attendees will also have plenty of networking opportunities and thought provoking exhibitions to engage with and it is great to see that Worcestershire’s first technology accelerator, BetaDen, will be amongst the exhibitors.

I would encourage attendees to visit the BetaDen stand to learn more the recent success they have had with cohort 1 and about the upcoming events they will be running focused around technological innovation alongside opportunities to get involved with future cohorts.

A highlight of the event is the Meet the Buyer section, focused on assistive technology and how it can be developed for usage within social care environments. Worcestershire has an aging population and technology developments in the social care environment will ensure we are able to support this population into the future.

I believe this will be a fantastic event for individuals who are looking to meet and interact with like-minded innovators and would encourage interested parties to confirm their place.
