THIS week we saw the announcement from Government around the next phase of recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.

For businesses there has been a lot of information shared to help set out a plan of how organisations can start to get back to work.

The new guidance launched covers eight workplace settings which are allowed to be open and there are five main steps from Government that organisations in these sectors should look to implement as soon as it is practical for them. These are:

1. Work from home, if you can.

2. Carry out a Covid-19 risk assessment, in consultation with workers or trade unions.

3. Maintain 2 metres social distancing, wherever possible.

4. Where people cannot be 2 metres apart, manage transmission risk.

5. Reinforcing cleaning processes.

More information on these steps and guides for each of the eight sectors allowed to open is available on the Government website, gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19.

Here in Worcestershire many organisations have already made changes to ensure that their staff are safe and can get back to work.

Over the next few weeks we will be sharing these case studies through our Making Connections podcast series to help listeners hear first-hand how to implement these changes.

If you haven’t already, I would recommend listening to the Making Connections Podcast series and make sure you subscribe on Soundcloud or Spotify to not miss out on future content as it is released.
