Our June plant sale at Peopleton Village Hall was again very successful and well attended with very few plants left unsold. A useful sum was raised for group funds which made all the hard work worthwhile.

Tricia and Richard King kindly held the first of our members’ summer coffee mornings at their home in Pinvin. Only four years old, the garden was beautifully presented and much admired for its colour and practical design. As usual there was plenty of opportunity for good conversation and cake.

We next meet on Saturday, July 14 at Crowle Parish Hall, WR7 4AZ. A members’ lunchtime social event will be followed at 2pm by ‘Gardens of New Zealand’, an illustrated talk by group chairman, Mick Dunstan. Visitors are very welcome to attend the talk for £3 and there will be plant sales, a raffle and refreshments available.

Looking ahead, we are holding a celebrity lecture at Pershore College on Saturday, October 13 at 2pm, when Gardeners’ Question Time panellist Matthew Biggs will speak about ‘Lessons from Great Gardeners’. Non group members can apply for tickets at £10 by emailing sec@worcs-hardy-plant.org.uk or by purchasing at our regular meetings.
