A WELCOME to members and a visitor, Jan Titley, birthday wishes, and apologies, before all present witnessed three of our members act as volunteers when demonstrations of Indian head massage, acupressure massage and reflexology were shown to us by Steve Soden.

All the volunteers enjoyed their experience and said they thought therapies such as the above could be beneficial to many people. Members watched with rapt interest, particularly looking for the odd grimace when certain ‘spots’ were touched!

Chris Pugh, dressed in a beautiful Indian outfit she had had made for her in Shimla, thanked Steve for such an enlightening evening.

The business side of the meeting heard reports of 11 members’ visit to Denman College, and the enjoyable trip to Hereford Cathedral and other churches. Members were informed of the increase in our subscriptions next year, the group meeting at Badsey, the annual council meeting at Malvern, county skittles, which Nadine Woakes will organise again, and various other county and national matters. The draw for the county Denman Bursary was won by Carol Jones Our competition, an Indian item, was won by Chris Pugh, with Josie Witts and Pat Chitty second and third, and the monthly flower arrangement went home with Lorraine Caldwell.

Barbara Forrester and Chris Bailey provided our refreshments.

Our next meeting on October 15 is a talk entitled ‘Wimbledon Umpire’. New members and visitors are always welcome.
