YOUNGSTERS learnt to love the countryside at a Young Countryside Day organised by the Countryside Alliance Foundation and held at Throckmorton Clay Shooting Club.
Children of all ages and backgrounds learnt about important elements of rural life, explored the links with conservation and had hands-on experience with activities such as clay shooting, archery, ferreting, fishing, falconry and gun dog training.
A police firearms officer was there to update on licensing laws and legal use of weapons.
Clare Rowson, Midlands regional director for the Country Alliance Foundation, said: “It was a pleasure to see the enjoyment the children had out of the day, bubbling over with excitement. Their confidence seemed to increase as they successfully completed each activity, learning something new all the time.”
