THE village of Salford Priors is preparing to host its annual Scarecrow weekend Summer Fete.

The fete at the village playing fields on Saturday, June 25, will have a whole host of attractions for children who can climb aboard Smiley the train and for adults who can enjoy morris dancing and Irish dancing.

Visitors can also watch a thatcher demonstrating his craft or see rare breed sheep and other animals, investigate arts and crafts stalls, an old fashioned penny arcade, bouncy castle and slides.

Refreshments will also be available with tasty summer strawberries, Pimms and a sizzling barbecue to be enjoyed while listening listening to a brass band perform.

Local traders and businesses are also taking part in the event making it a real community affair, complete with dog show and a few other surprises.

Admission is free of charge. The playing fields are located behind the school and the fete will be held from 2pm to 5pm.
