TWO men whose lives revolved around football in very different ways will come face to face at an event in Bidford later this month.
Former Portsmouth Premier League footballer Linvoy Primus will share the stage with ex-professional football hooligan Gram Seed at The Barn, the home of Bidford Baptist Church, in Waterloo Road, on Friday, May 23, at 7pm.
Once on different sides, Primus a popular player at Portsmouth where they named a stand Linvoy Primus Community Stand, and Seed, a former Middlesborough-based criminal, alcoholic and self-proclaimed tramp, the pair have both now turned to Christianity.
Primus is involved in the Christian charity Faith & Football and has walked the Great Wall of China to help raise £100,000 for their cause. In 2007, he released his autobiography, "Transformed", which details his conversion to Christianity.
And Seed set up a charity called Sowing Seeds Ministries which brings the Christian message to prisoners and ex-offenders. His book "One Step Beyond" won the 2010 Christian Book Award after a public vote.
The event, organised by Cornerstone Men's Breakfasts, at The Barn will see the pair talking about their experience with plenty of chance for questions from the audience about the pair's life and faith.
Tickets, priced at £5, including food, are available at csmb.org.uk or email tickets@csmb.org.uk.
