FEMALE golfers have raised more than £6,000 to help people with dementia
Members of the Ladies Section at The Vale Golf and Country Club in Bishampton collected the money through a variety events including a “very successful” golfing fashion show.
The funds will be donated to the Alcester Café which supports people with dementia and memory problems.
A cheque for £6,080 was presented by the Vale Ladies Section’s past captain Kathy Cowell to Carole Zambonini, who runs the good cause with support from a team of volunteers.
The Alcester Café is a drop-in café “dedicated to help support people with memory problems or dementia, their families, carers, former carers and interested professional people”, according to its website.
It also “provides opportunities to share emotions in a safe environment and help prevent isolation and encourage peer support”.
