FIRE fighters were called out in the early hours of Sunday morning after a narrowboat was left stranded in a drained canal.
The call came at about 1.15am and firefighters found that the section of the Worcestershire and Birmingham Canal west of Tolladine Lock had lost its water.
After rescuing two people from the boat, the fire brigade informed the Canal and River Trust, which was investigating the reason for the drainage.
