KIND Kidderminster parents will once again be doing their bit to spread cheer to youngsters spending the festive season in hospital.

Mandy Griffiths is running her third annual Christmas Gift Project which will deliver presents to children at Worcestershire Royal and Birmingham Children’s Hospitals on December 15.

Her pilot project at the Royal in 2016 proved to be such a success that she extended it last year and had an even bigger response.

She said they are appealing for a range of toys (with the exception of teddy bears) and gifts to be donated, all unwrapped, and added she is hoping to get an even better response this time.

Her efforts are being backed by other parents and supported by Liberal Democrat Councillor Fran Oborski.

Mandy said: “Nurses at the hospitals were so overwhelmed last year with the amount we had collected and presented to them.

“It was so successful that we couldn’t take it all in before Christmas and presented the remaining gifts in January to bring a bonus bit of cheer in the New Year.

“We will be taking Santa with us and donating the gifts on December 15 so we would be grateful for any kind donation by December 10.

“It is wonderful to have the support we are getting and to help bring some smiles to children who are in hospital at that time of year.”
